Brooklyn Aces skate hard against cancer

Aviator Sports & Recreation became an attack zone for a killer disease as it swayed the big-hearted to part with their cash — plus take in a game of hockey — during a benefit for the American Cancer Society (ACS).

Fans and friends poured into Hangar 5 to watch the borough’s new home team, the Brooklyn Aces, square off against the Danbury Mad Hatters to raise cancer awareness, and support local patients and their families. Fans also had the chance to come out onto the ice and take a shot at winning Aces’ merchandise.

State Senator Carl Kruger was on hand to present Aces’ President and CEO Alan Friedman with a proclamation.

Proceeds from the benefit will be donated to the ACS in addition to a portion of the ticket sales from the game.
