Now you can see all over Brooklyn without leaving a single intersection in Clinton Hill.
Caitlin-Marie Miner and Monica Lo — both art directors, both Pratt Institute grads and both 23-years-old — have created a visually arresting eight-foot-by-12-foot mural at Green and Classon avenues with a team of local artists as part of a contest set up by Ford to tout its 40 mile-per-gallon Fiesta.
Miner, a Fort Greene resident, and Lo, who lives in Crown Heights, were selected by Ford from 1,000 applicants — and their contribution is an illustrative painting of 10 of their favorite venues in Brooklyn, including, in order from the top, Pratt Institute, Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Botanical Garden, Coney Island, the Brooklyn Heights Promenade, the Brooklyn Bridge, Bogota Bistro, the Gutter bowling alley, Fort Greene Park and Gorilla Cafe.
“It took us four days to hash it out, and the best part is that it allows us to highlight Brooklyn’s diversity,” said Miner of the masterpiece, created in conjunction with artist pals Patricia Arubo, Daniel Massi and Annie Ericsson.
The creative team celebrated the completion of the mural on April 15 with a party at Bogota Bistro on Fifth Avenue, between St. Johns and Lincoln places.
