Balleri-no!
A subway dance troupe turned militant on May 25 when the dancers viciously mugged a 22-year-old straphanger on the J train.
The violent attack began when the victim started conversing with the dancers after they finished an acrobatic performance near the Lorimer Street stop at around 3:40 am.
That’s when one of the perps asked the victim if he would like to “see something mesmerizing.”
The victim said yes, so the perp pulled himself into the air on the train’s metal bars and unleashed a powerful kick to the victim’s chest. Two other dancers then joined in the attack and started punching and kicking the victim in the head and body.
The victim called out to the other two dancers for help, but his pleas only convinced the other performers to join in the walloping.
Eventually, one of the perps demanded that the victim hand over his belongings.
“What’s in your pockets?” the bad b-boys asked.
The victim handed over his Blackberry and wallet — which contained his bank cards, Social Security card and $3. The crooks escaped from the train.
Viscous assault
Three crooks punched and slashed a 31-year-old driver in a bloody May 22 altercation.
The assailants — two men and one women — confronted the victim while he drove near the corner of South Second and Berry streets at around 11:45.
When the victim slowed his vehicle, one of the men spit in his face and the other punched him in the head.
That’s when the victim got out of his car and a melee began.
All three thugs attacked the driver, punching him in the head and face and eventually throwing him to the ground.
Once he hit the asphalt, the female goon lunged at the victim with a box cutter, slicing his left hand.
Eventually the victim was able to wrestle the box cutter from the woman and throw the blade away, and the attackers fled.
Chevy shooting
A 23-year-old was shot in the face in a shocking — and seemingly unprovoked — May 25 assault.
The victim of the attack was sitting in the passenger seat of a Chevy Tahoe that was stopped at a red light at the corner of Humboldt and Moore streets at around midnight when he heard three gunshots — one of which struck him in the side of the face.
The victim was treated at Woodhull Hospital and the mystery gunman escaped.
Phone-y crime
Cops nabbed two teens suspected of mugging a 14-year-old for his cellphone on May 21.
The suspects allegedly confronted the victim at the corner of Roebling and South Fourth streets at around 3:50 pm and threatened to beat him up if he didn’t hand over his phone.
The perps got the phone and fled when friends of the victim tried to intervene — but the robbers didn’t get far. Police quickly locked up a 16-year-old and 17-year-old suspected of committing the act.
Chain pain
Two hoodlums punched a 40-year-old until he handed over his gold chains and Sidekick cellphone on May 22.
The robbers grabbed the victim at the corner of Seigel Street and Manhattan Avenue at around 8 pm and punching him in the head, leaving him with abrasions, lacerations, and a swollen lip.
The thieves fled with the victim’s phone and gold medallions — valued by cops at $1,000.
Bike-by mugging
A pedal-pushing perp grabbed a 30-year-old woman’s iPhone from her hand as she walked home on May 23.
The bike riding bad guy snatched the fancy phone at the corner of Graham Avenue and Grand Street at around 5:30 pm and rode away on his bicycle.
Manhattanite mugged
Crooks roughed up a Manhattan man in a brazen daytime mugging at the corner of Boerum and Leonard streets on May 21.
The robbers approached the 19-year-old victim from behind as he was listening to music at around 1 pm and started slugging him. The victim offered the crooks $80 to stop the assault, and the muggers fled with the cash.
Sugary heist
Cops nabbed a pair of teens suspected of breaking into the old Domino Sugar refinery on May 24.
The trespassers forced their way through a security gate to get into the closed Kent Avenue factory, which is slated to be converted into a residential development.
But at around 5 am, cops nabbed two 18-year-old suspects inside the refinery’s parking lot, which is between South Third and South Fourth streets.
The suspects were carrying burglar’s tools, cops said.
