For eight years in a row, the grandmothers of New York are preparing to showcase their talents, inner beauty, dignity and maturity in the 2009 “Your Highness Grandmother” Pageant, November 15, 1 p.m. at the “National,” 273 Brighton Beach Avenue in the Brighton Beach section of Brooklyn.
Their talents will range from singing, dancing, performing yoga techniques, and much more as each contestant seizes the moment to display her talent and elegance.
This year’s “Your Highness Grandmother-2009” Show will incorporate a new competition into its program called “The Costume of Your Youth” in which the grandmothers will go back in time and showcase their individuality by modeling their most interesting outfits.
For eight years, the “Your Highness Grandmother” pageant has enjoyed immense success since it honors not only grandmothers, but also their families.
Two lucky ladies will be crowned “Your Highness Grandmother-2009,” one from the “Grandmother Division” (up to age 69), and one in the “Queen Grandmother Division” (from age 70 and up).
As always, the panel of judges will consist of grandfathers only — after all, who better to judge a grandmother pageant than grandfathers?
