The “Seniors in Shape” Fifth Fitness For Life Expo, sponsored by EmblemHealth at Aviator Sports & Recreation in Floyd Bennett Field, brought more than 800 attendees from all over Brooklyn, The Bronx and Queens.
A number of senior centers throughout the boroughs brought their members for a fun−filled day of exercise & dance classes, entertainment, raffles, giveaways and more. In addition, the attendees were able to meet with more than 30 companies who exhibited their products and services; among them were representatives from Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, who answered any health insurance questions they had.
Additionally, SUNY Downstate Medical Center provided free blood pressure, diabetes, smoking cessation and sleep disorder screenings throughout the day.
There will also be a Spring Health Fair at Aviator Sports & Recreation, May 14.
