A trigger-happy gunman opened fire on a young man at Columbia and W. Ninth streets in Red Hook on Aug. 16 — hitting his fleeing victim in the leg.
Residents scrambled for cover as the gunman fired off five shots from a row of parked cars across the street from the Red Hook Houses during the noon attack.
The would-be assassin ran off as paramedics took the victim to Lutheran Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition after treatment.
Investigators had no clear motive on the shooting by late Tuesday.
