Unexpected visitor
A burglar’s efforts were foiled when his victim came home and found him in her E. 14th Street living room on Feb. 12.
The victim told police that she came home and entered through the back door of her house between Avenues X and W at 11:30 pm, thinking she was alone, when the unfamiliar crook suddenly waltzed downstairs carrying her camera.
“Who are you?” the terrified victim screeched.
“Relax, I’m in the wrong house,” the suspect responded, before dropping the victim’s property and making a run for it.
Pint-sized perp
Cops are on the hunt for knife-wielding teen who they say stole a 13-year-old boy’s phone on Avenue U on Feb. 12.
The victim told police that he was near Van Sicklen Street on his way home from school at 2:50 pm when the 12-year-old robber ambushed him and stole his cell.
Awning entrance
A crook burglarized a couple’s Stuart Street home on Feb. 17 — taking thousands in jewelry, cash, and an iPad 3.
The victims told police that they left their home between Avenues S and T at 11:50 pm, and returned that evening to find their home in shambles, and a rear, second-floor window left ajar.
The crook apparently gained entrance by clamoring over an awning, and entered through the unlocked window, cops said.
The Samaritan save
A 39-year-old man was arrested for breaking into and attempting to burglarize a man’s E. 19th Street home on Feb. 17, but was caught after a good Samaritan called the cops and stalled the suspect until they could arrive.
The witness told police that he was between Avenues T and U at 2:47 pm when he saw the suspect kick down the victim’s front door and enter the home. The witness called the cops and managed to prevent the suspect from leaving the scene until they arrived, police said.
Fire escapades
A bandit broke into a man’s E. 13th Street home through a fire-escape window and helped himself to some jewelry on Feb. 16.
The victim told police that he left his home between Kings Highway and Avenue R at 2 pm, and returned at 7:15 pm to find thousands worth of gold, precious jewels, and a Nook electronic reader were missing.
Drunk munchies
A drunken reveler was arrested for punching and biting cops on Avenue X on Feb. 12.
The arresting officers reported that they were between Batchelder and Coyle streets at 9:25 pm when they noticed the suspect drinking out a 22-ounce can of Coor’s on a public street. After questioning the man, the officers discovered that the suspect had an active warrant out for his arrest, and when the tried to slap cuffs on him, he smacked one of the cops in the face and bit the other on his arm, officials said.
Jewel heist
A crook ransacked a woman’s E. 28th Street home on Feb. 15 — taking thousands in jewelry and electronics.
The victim told police that she left her home between Avenues V and W at 9 pm, and returned just an hour later to find her front door busted in and her property missing.
The copper capper
Someone tried to steal copper from a man’s Stanton Road apartment on Feb. 14.
The victim told police that he left his home between Emmons Avenue and Shore Parkway at 11 pm, and returned at 9:30 am the next day to find one of his windows shattered, floorboards throughout his apartment ripped up, and in an attempt to get at the victim’s precious copper pipes.
