Burglar busted

Cops have arrested a 29-year-old man who they claim broke into an E. 15th Street home back on Nov. 11.

The suspect allegedly forced his way into the home between Avenues J and K sometime after 11:34 pm and walked out a few minutes later with a backpack containing a laptop computer and some CDs.

But his escape was caught on videotape — which the police used to track him down and charge him with burglary on Dec. 8.

Teen missing

The NYPD is turning to the community for help in the search for Maria Hernandez, a 16-year-old Avenue O resident who has been missing since Dec. 2.

Friends and family of the five-foot-one, 120-pound, brown-eyed and brown-haired teen said Hernandez was last seen leaving her home between Coney Island Avenue and E. 12th Street at 5:30 pm.

Anyone with information regarding this young woman’s whereabouts is urged to call the NYPD CrimeStoppers at (800) 577-8477. All calls will be kept confidential.

Brutal mugging

Two goons jumped a man on Ocean Avenue during a Dec. 10 robbery — leaving him with a broken nose, cheekbone and eye socket.

The victim was nearing Church Avenue at 4:55 pm when the two suspects attacked. One of thugs allegedly pummeled the victim with punches while the other went through his pockets and prevented him from leaving.

Cops caught up with one of the suspects, a 31-year-old, the next day, charging him with attempted robbery and assault.

Sinister shoplifter

Cops arrested a 51-year-old man who they say swiped 14 pairs of jeans from a Flatbush Avenue store on Dec. 10 — then threatened to stab a worker who tried to stop him from leaving.

The thief was taken into custody shortly after he made off with the merchandise — about $280 worth of pants — from the store near Beverly Road at 4 pm.

Pistoleer pinched

A 22-year-old man was arrested this week in connection with a shooting on Flatbush Avenue on Nov. 27.

Witnesses said that the suspect drew his firearm and opened fire near Church Avenue at 3:45 am, hitting his victim in the leg.

Cops caught up with the alleged gunman this week, charging him with attempted assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

Murdered in car

A phantom gunman shot and killed a man inside a car on E. 55th Street on Dec. 6, police said.

Witnesses found the unnamed victim — who had not been identified by Monday night — behind the wheel of a black 1998 BMW 528i parked near Church Street at 8:17 pm.

Killed by motorcycle

A motorcyclist struck and killed a 64-year-old woman crossing Parkside Avenue on Dec. 8.

Witnesses say the woman was walking against the light at Flatbush Avenue at 5:44 am when she was hit. Paramedics rushed her to Kings County Hospital, where she died of injuries stemming from the accident.

The motorcyclist remained at the scene and wasn’t facing any criminal charges as of Monday night.
