Burglar steals cash from Avenue U business

A good-for-nothing broke into an Avenue U business sometime overnight on April 20 and stole thousands of dollars.

The victim left the location near E. 19th Street at 11 pm, and returned at 10:30 am the next day to find someone had clipped the gate lock and broken in. The thief stole around $3,500 from a safe in the kitchen cabinet.

Police said there was a camera on scene.
