Burglary trifecta
Police are trying to locate a thief who may have committed three burglaries in one day.
Two residents of East 84th Street near Seaview Avenue and one resident of East 85th Street near Seaview Avenue returned home Thursday evening, August 27, to find that someone had forced open their back bedroom windows.
Jewelry was taken from each home, officials said.
Detectives from the 69th Precinct are trying to see if the three burglaries are linked.

Gunpoint rob bust
Police have arrested a man wanted for a gun-point heist on Schneck Street.
Officials said that an area resident was on Schneck Street near Canarsie Road at 1:30 a.m. on August 22 when he was stopped by two men.
One of the men pulled what appeared to be a gun as the other robbed him of his cell phone, music player and backpack.
After a brief investigation, responding officers tracked down and arrested Rohan Brown, 17, in connection with the robbery.
Brown was charged with robbery, grand larceny, assault and criminal possession of stolen property.
His partner was still at large as this paper went to press.
Cutting arguments
An argument at an East 87th Street home turned bloody when one of the men involved tried to drive his point across with a knife, police alleged.
Officials allege that Dale Williams, 27, was arguing with another man inide the apartment at 12:50 a.m. on August 31 when he grabbed a knife.
He lashed out with the blade, cutting his victim’s fingers, police alleged. The cuts were so deep that they needed stitches at an area hospital.
Williams was taken into custody a short time later, charged with assault in the second degree, menacing, criminal possession of a weapon, menacing and harassment.
It was unclear what sparked the fight as this paper went to pess.
Rebate renegade
A local Rite Aid employee was arrested last week on charges that he bilked the company of over $1,000 in pre-paid Visa card sales.
Police charged him with grand larceny for the thefts, which they allege took place back on August 15 inside the Rite Aid on Utica Avenue and Avenue J.
Prosecutors say the culprit sold the cards and pocketed the cash rather than putting the receipts in the cash register.
He tried to cover his tracks by inputting bogus returns for the pre-paid cards, fooling the computer into thinking that no money was missing, police alleged.
Mill Basin bruiser busted
Police have arrested the 17-year-old who allegedly grabbed a woman by the throat during a harrowing purse snatching on Avenue U and East 52nd Street.
Investigators said that Ramel Blocker was charged last week in the July 22 robbery.
The victim told police that she was walking along Avenue U at 10:30 p.m. when Blocker allegedly attacked.
He allegedly brought the woman to the ground, punched her in the face and ran off with her pocket book and cell phone.
When cops caught up with him, they charged Blocker with robbery in the second degree, assault, grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.
iPod swipe
Five teenage thieves surrounded and robbed another teen of his iPod in Mill Basin last week, officials alleged.
The victim told police that he was nearing the corner of East 56th Street and Avenue K at 6:30 p.m. on August 27 when the five suspects allegedly tackled him to the ground.
Several of the suspects held him there while a few of the others went through his pockets and removed his iPod, police alleged.
The teens ran off, but didn’t get very far, police said.
Cops from the 63rd Precinct caught up with the suspects after a short search of the area and took them into custody without incident.
The quintet, identified as Joshua Evans and Clayton Fraser, both 17, and three juveniles, were all charged with robbery in the second degree, petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, police said.
Shot over dissing
A 21-year-old man was hospitalized last week after he allegedly “dissed” a girl on East 82nd Street.
Officials said that they responded to East 82nd Street near Flatlands Avenue shortly after midnight on August 12 when they found the victim lying on the ground.
He had been shot multiple times in the legs, officials said.
Investigators were later told that just before the shooting the victim had insulted a girl that he knew.
Outraged, the girl called over her brother, who reportedly pulled a gun and shot the victim five times.

Handball court blasting
An 18-year-old was listed in critical condition after he was struck in the chest with a BB gun pellet at a neighborhood basketball court.
Police said that the teen had just finished playing handball with friends at the courts outside P.S. 272 at Bayview Park, Seaview Avenue and East 101st Street, when he was struck by the pellet.
Witnesses said moments after being struck, the victim sat down on a bench and went into convulsions as if he’d had a seizure.
He was rushed to Brookdale Hospital Center, where he was listed in critical condition.
As of this writing, it was believed that the victim was not the intended target and was either hit by a ricochet or a stray pellet.
Anyone with information regarding the shooter’s identity and whereabouts is urged to come forward.
