Purse prowler
A nogoodnik snatched a woman’s purse from her as she was walking on E. 13th Street on Feb. 13, police said.
The woman told police she was near Avenue X at about 2:15 pm when the baddie came up to her from behind and swiped her bag, knocking them both over. The jerk got away with her purse, containing her social security card, New York State identification card, cash, and a silver necklace, according to authorities.
Five against one
Cops cuffed two out of five teens who they say punched another adolescent and stole his iPhone from his jacket pocket on Avenue P on Feb. 13.
The 14-year-old victim was walking home from school near E. 23rd Street at 3 pm when five suspects stopped him, according to authorities. One of the suspects asked the teen about a girl and then started punching and kicking him, while others also started attacking him, officials said. And one of the suspects snatched his iPhone 6 out of his front jacket pocket and then fled, police said.
Heavy lifting
A malefactor broke into a guy’s apartment on Kings Highway and stole two televisions and cologne sometime overnight on Feb. 12, police said.
The vandal broke the lock of the front door near E. Ninth Street sometime between 5:30 pm and 7:30 am the next day, and took two Samsung televisions, along with four assorted colognes, according to authorities.
While she was out
A baddie broke into a woman’s home on E. Ninth Street while she was out on Feb. 13 and stole her pricey jewelry, police said.
The woman told officers she left her house near Avenue U to go shopping at about 3:15 pm and when she returned an hour later, noticed that the side doors were open, along with the window in the basement. The intruder swiped a wad of cash, a silver necklace and ring, and a man’s gold Star of David necklace and gold chain, police said.
The woman said she locked everything up before leaving her apartment, according to authorities.
Tool thief
A purloiner broke into a guy’s van parked on Knapp Street overnight on Feb. 13 and swiped his tools, officials said.
The guy told police he left his van near Avenue Y at 3:30 pm and when he went back to get it at 6:45 am, realized the back lock was broken and the klepto had stolen his DeWalt, porter cable, and Bostitch compressor, according to authorities.
Expensive break
A crook broke into a guy’s E. 24th Street house while he was out on Feb. 18 and stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry, police said.
The 41-year-old guy told police he was at this brother’s house at 6 pm and when he returned home near Avenue V at about 9:30 pm, discovered that his first-floor kitchen window had been cut open and broken.
The jewel thief ransacked his bedroom and threw his belongings everywhere, and stole his Chopard watch and earrings, an engagement ring, a Karloff watch, and a diamond ring, according to authorities.
