Bensonhurst—Bath Beach

Purse snatcher

A good-for-nothing grabbed a woman’s purse and dashed off while she was waiting for the bus at the intersection of Bay Parkway on Aug. 14, cops said.

The victim told police that she was sitting on a bench near Benson Avenue waiting for the bus at 2 am when the nogoodnik sat beside her. When she put her handbag on the ground, the rapscallion grabbed it and bolted.

Cash grab

Two thieves busted into a supermarket on 20th Avenue on Aug. 12 and made off with $600 from the cash registers, police said.

Authorities say the two men broke into the store between 84th and 83rd streets through a loose panel on the front of the building at 10:46 pm. After grabbing the cash, the punks fled on foot, police said.

Rough morning commute

Someone stole a man’s red Dodge Caravan from its parking spot on Shore Parkway on Aug. 12, police said.

The victim told police that he went to get into his car for his morning commute at 9:30 am, but when he approached its spot near 21st Avenue, the vehicle was gone.

The minivan was recently spotted in Sunset Park, but its current location is unknown, cops said.

A workout to remember

A weasel broke into a man’s parked car on 71st Street on Aug. 8 and stole two cellphones and five credit cards, police said.

The victim told police he parked his vehicle between 15th and 16th avenues and went to use the gym for a few hours. After his workout, the victim headed home and went to sleep, but upon waking up the next day, noticed his cellphones and credit cards were missing from his car, according to a police report.

The victim told police he received a call shortly after that someone charged purchases to his Valley National debit card, which he last saw in the glove compartment of his car.
