A man repeatedly whacked a Verizon worker while he sat in his truck on Fort Hamilton Parkway on Aug. 2.
The driver was parked near 95th Street at around 11 am when a perp approached the van, reached through the driver’s-side window and hit the victim repeatedly with an unknown sharp object, causing lacerations on the victim’s arm and neck.
The assailant then fled, and the victim drove himself to a nearby hospital.
Cars swiped
Cars were hot this week within the 68th Precinct, with three autos taken, including two fancy black Benzes.
• The first Mercedes was lifted from 71st Street between Shore Road and Narrows Avenue after the owner parked it there on July 30. The car was gone by the time he returned three days later.
• The second Mercedes was swiped off 80th Street between Fort Hamilton Parkway and 10th Avenue on Aug 7 between 1:30 am and 3:30 pm.
• A 1994 Acura was stolen from Sixth Avenue between 79th and 80th streets on Aug 3. The owner had parked his car at 4:30 am and his ride was missing when he returned to the spot six hours later.
Forced entry
A thief forced his way into a 64th Street apartment on Aug. 3 and swiped $1,600 in jewelry and cameras.
The tenant left his apartment, which is between 12th and 13th avenues, at 1 pm, and returned five hours later to find that his front door had been busted in and his valuables were missing.
