The man who attacked a 14-year-old girl in Canarsie last month could be a serial rapist.
Officials investigating the October 20 attack have connected their suspect to not one but two other sex assaults over the last few months.
The would-be rapist, described as a 5’8” to 5’11” heavyset black male between 25 and 35, reportedly followed a 20-year-old woman into an elevator of a building near the corner of Church Avenue and East 37th Street just before 11 p.m. on May 21, where he pulled a knife and sexually assaulted the woman, officials said.
He resurfaced on the afternoon of June 11, where a 22-year-old woman was followed to her home on Clarendon Road and raped at gunpoint.
A sketch of the suspect was released following an attempted rape at the corner of East 105th Street and Avenue N.
A 14-year-old girl said that the man had grabbed her at 4:40 p.m. on October 20 and forced her to the back of her building.
He pulled a knife and claimed to have a gun as he began to sexually assault her, but ran off when she screamed for help.
His victim was left rattled, but unharmed, officials said.
Investigators would not release what linked the three incidents together although sources said that DNA evidence recovered from the Canarsie attack was also recovered from the two other crimes.
Investigators have been peppering the area with the man’s sketch ever since the attack took place.
