Can’t duck the disco on Shore Road

Can’t duck the disco on Shore Road

Be there or be square.

Boogie buffs answered the call by slicking on glitter and shimmying over to Shore Road Park for a disco-licious concert, headlined by ‘70s pop princess France Joli.

The crooner, best known for her hit “Come to Me,” lured a packed house to the emerald empire on Shore Road, off 79th Street, where she struck a chord with faithful fans by igniting the stage at State Senator Marty Golden’s free 2009 Concerts in the Parks series.

Those who had been there the first time around took novices on a trip down memory lane by strutting their stuff as Jolie pounded her dulcet vocal chords upon a string of sizzling crowd-pleasers from the era of pulsating sounds and sequinned tube-tops.

The series continues with a star-stuuded line-up through the month:

Aug 11, Charlie Thomas’ Drifters, Shore Road Park.

Aug 12, Eclypse (Classic Disco and Top 40 Dance) at Marine Park, Fillmore Avenue.
