Car thief careens into pair of walkers

Mayhem on Avenue K: The stolen sport utility vehicle’s driver hit a red sedan and then two pedestrians before crashing into a front gate.

A guy in a stolen car hit and killed a Canarsie woman on May 1.

The driver stole a sport utility vehicle in East Flatbush and plowed into a sedan at the intersection of E. 94th Street and Avenue K in Canarsie at 12:49 pm, police said. The guy’s car bounced off the sedan and into a 57-year-old-man and 51-year-old Chooi Tan, who died in the hospital.

The driver and two passengers in the stolen car fled. The guy in the sedan suffered minor injuries and stuck around. The male victim is in stable condition, officials said.
