Cats out of this bag

Drunken master

Some quiet bandits sneaked through a woman’s N. Sixth Street apartment while she slept on Jan. 23.

The victim told police that she’d had some drinks before bed, and that the perps must have broken into the unit, which is between Havemeyer Street and Meeker Avenue, after she went to bed at 10:40 pm. When she awoke eight hours later, she discovered that her laptop, purse and wedding ring were gone.

To add insult to injury, the thieves left open the front door, allowing the woman’s cats to escape.

Greenpoint a gun

Two masked ruffians held up and robbed the Greenpoint Deli Market on Jan. 19.

Workers were alone in the deli — which is at Greenpoint and Manhattan avenues — at about 4 am when the masked men came in, and one pointed a gun to a clerk’s face and said, “Freeze, put your hands up. Where’s the savings?”

The startled employees forked over more than $1,500, a gold chain and an iPhone before the crooks fled toward Kent Avenue.

Phone snags

Criminals were crazy for iPhones in Greenpoint and Williamsburg this past week. Here’s a roundup of thefts:

• Some jerk stole a woman’s Apple phone right out of her hand on Berry Street on Jan. 19. She told cops that was near N. Third Street at about 6:30 pm when the man tore the smartphone away, and when she tried to take the expensive device back, he pushed her on the ground and ran.

• Three men robbed and repeatedly punched a man in the face who near the intersection of Eckford Street and Driggs Avenue on Jan. 21. The terror trio jumped him at about 11 pm, took his iPhone and left him bleeding from his eyes, nose and mouth.

• Three muggers took advantage of a man who was texting while walking on Manhattan Avenue — between Skillman Avenue and Conselyea Street — on Jan. 20. The thugs ran up and punched the man at 11 pm, pushed him on the ground and stole his iPhone and wallet.

• Two hooded men flashing handguns grabbed a woman on Roebling Street near N. Ninth Street at 10 pm on Jan. 23 and stole her tote bag containing an iPhone and cash. One of them was identified by police and was arrested the next day.
