The president of Ragamuffin was in the spotlight at Community Board 10’s most recent meeting.
Colleen Golden, who has headed up the organization for a total of six non-consecutive years, received the board’s Honor of the Pledge during its September meeting, which was held in the community room at Shore Hill, 9000 Shore Road.
Golden, the mother of two, is the wife of State Senator Marty Golden.
The Ragamuffin Parade, said board Chair Dean Rasinya, is “Really a fantastic day. Everybody comes together to support the kids, which is really what it’s all about.” The parade is now in its 42nd year.
This year’s Ragamuffin parade will take place on Saturday, September 27th.
