At no cost to parents or guardians, Metropolitan Jewish Hospice is offering a community day camp, August 23, for kids and young adults ages 6-18 who are coping with the loss of a loved one.
On the oceanfront property of Menorah Home and Hospital, 1516 Oriental Boulevard between Norfolk and McKenzie streets, Hospice will provide a safe and fun-filled experience for children and teens to interact and express themselves through the creative arts from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
As part of Hospice’s Art & Soul™ program, kids will be divided into age specific groups led by trained arts and music therapists. Attendees will participate in a range of activities, including comedy and improvisation, scrapbooking, journaling and music making, followed by an ice cream party.
Bereavement support and activities also will be provided to parents or guardians, who must accompany kids and teens, during the day camp.
