Social insecurity

Three fraudsters scammed a 70-year-old woman out of $5,000 on 85th Street on June 13, police say.

The victim said she was between Fourth and Fifth avenues at noon when the con artists pulled over in their car and flashed a large stack of cash. The lowlifes told her that they would share the swag with her if she contributed some of her own funds.

The victim agreed and let the scammers drive her home. The senior then went inside and got $1,500, and offered it to the perps. The schemers told her that the sum was not enough, and told her to get more. The woman then went back inside and retrieved another $3,500.

The crooks then drove the woman back where they found her, and told her to go to a real estate office on Third Avenue to pick up her portion of the money, before driving off. The woman went to the realtor, and on discovering there was no cash there for her, called the police.

That’s sick

A trio of tricksters pulled an elaborate scam at an Eighth Avenue doctor’s office on June 14, police report.

The victim told cops that she was sitting in the waiting room of the facility at the corner of 63rd Street at 2 pm when three other women approached her with the idea of starting a business selling medication.

The femme fatales asked the victim to pitch in $6,000 in start-up cash. The victim agreed, and rode with the shady ladies to a pair of banks in Queens to withdraw the funds.

The group then decided to stop at a restaurant on 70th Road in Forest Hills to use the bathroom. When the woman was in the loo, the threesome fled with her money.

Check and see

A thief smashed the window of a delivery truck on 86th Street and stole a bag full of checks from inside on June 13, according to cops.

The driver said he left his vehicle between Fourth and Fifth avenues at 3:15 pm and went into a store to drop off supplies. When he came back out he found the passenger-side window glass in shards and the checks missing.

Window shopping

A burglar slipped out of a 79th Street apartment with hundreds of dollars in electronics on June 12, authorities allege.

The victim told police she departed from her pad between Ridge Boulevard and Third Avenue at 9:30 am — leaving her rear window unlocked — and returned at 8 pm to discover her laptop and iPad gone.

Degree burglary

A sharp thief stole a man’s bachelor’s degree — along with $875 and other assorted papers — from his Senator Street apartment on June 11, cops report.

The victim said he left his flat between Fourth and Fifth avenues at 1 pm and returned at 2:30 pm to find his door chained shut from inside. He crept around the side of the building and saw his kitchen window open. The victim climbed in and found his home ransacked, with his cash and college certificate gone.
