Continuing education workshops, speakers

Spence-Chapin’s Adoption Resource Center (ARC) offers continuing education through a series of workshops and speakers in Brooklyn. All families formed through adoption are invited to these events.

The next event, “Finding the Right Words: Talking to Kids about Adoption,” happens October 22 from 7-9 p.m. at Congregation Beth Elohim, 274 Garfield Street in Park Slope.

It’s not easy to know what to say and when to say it. This workshop will provide strategies and guidelines on talking to your kids about adoption at different ages and developmental stages as well as how to discuss sensitive information that has not yet been shared.

Advance registration is required. There is a program fee of $20 per person. Bring a companion and get a $5 discount per person. To register, contact the ARC Line at 212-360-0259 or arcworkshops@spencechapin.org.
