Smashing approach

Officers arrested a 19-year-old boy who they say attacked a man on 18th Street on July 21, breaking a glass bottle over his head.

Police say the victim was between Third and Fourth avenues at 12:30 pm when the suspect approached him. The teen punched the victim several times in the face, and then hit him with the bottle, police said.

Gun and run

Cops arrested a gun-wielding trio who they say mugged a woman on Bedford Avenue on July 26.

The victim said she near Church Avenue at 9:20 am when she was approached by the trio. The first suspect, 18, said to the victim, “Come here, I want to talk to you.” That’s when the second, 24, pointed a pistol at the woman’s face as he removed $1,800 from her pockets, police said.

The two then fled to their getaway car, driven by the third suspect, 29, according to police.

Home brawl

A 35-year-old man was arrested for attacking another man in an Ocean Avenue home on July 27.

Officials say the victim and the suspect were inside the home between Beverly and Cortelyou roads at 10:40 pm when the suspect shoved the victim into a mirror, shattering the glass and cutting the victim’s hand.

The assault continued when the suspect repeatedly struck the victim with a two-by-four, and then went to bite his stomach, police allege.
