With a sketch of one of the thugs tucked under their arm, investigators in Flatlands have begun a renewed search for the thieves involved in the September 29 shooting of a UPS delivery man.
Cops said that the deliveryman was dropping off parcels in front of 4109 Kings Highway at 12:30 p.m. when he was confronted by two males.
The three exchanged words and one of the two suspects opened fire from a pistol he reportedly had hidden in his pocket.
The deliveryman was shot in the leg, officials said.
Police said that the thieves ran off without taking any parcels. They fled the area in a beige Volvo station wagon driven by a third suspect.
The getaway car had Pennsylvania plates, witnesses noted.
Paramedics rushed the UPS driver to Kings County Hospital where he was listed in stable condition after treatment.
As of this writing, it was not believed if the robbery is part of a pattern. No other UPS or delivery company robberies have occurred in the area, officials said.
According to recently released CompStat numbers, robberies in the 63rd Precinct has dropped by nearly seven percent over the last month. Robberies have dropped by nearly two percent so far this year.
Cops have spent the last week circulating a sketch of one of the two suspects in the hopes that someone in the area recognizes him.
Police described one of the thieves as 25 to 30-year-old black male. He’s 5’10” tall and 165 with a thin build. The thief was last seen wearing a dark baseball cap.
The second suspect is believed to be a 5’7” tall black male between 25 and 30-years-old.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding this incident, or the two men involved in the robbery, to come forward.
