Police on Wednesday arrested a Staten Island woman who allegedly struck a 14-year-old girl with her car in Borough Park last month and fled the scene.
Cops cuffed 49-year-old Julia Litmonovich at her Staten Island home on April 10 and charged her with a speeding violation, reckless driving, failure to yield to a pedestrian and exercise due care, second-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree assault, and leaving the scene of an accident, police said.
The alleged incident occurred at 47th Street and Ninth Avenue at about 4 p.m. on March 27, when Litmonovich purportedly struck the youngster with her black Dodge Challenger sports car as the girl was crossing the street in the crosswalk toward 48th Street, according to police. Litmonovich allegedly got out of her car to check on the girl after she hit her, but fled the scene on her four wheels when a witness called 911, cops said.
Emergency medical personnel transported the girl to Maimonides Hospital with bruising to her torso and legs, officers added.
