The one that got away
Police cuffed four of five young ruffians — including two 11-year-olds — who allegedly stabbed a teen and then stole his bicycle on Avenue Y on May 8. The suspects — ages 11, 11, 14, 19, and unknown — demanded the teen’s bike near E. 18th Street at 3 pm, police claim. But when the 16-year-old refused to give it up, the jerk who got away took a knife out of a backpack and stabbed him, according to authorities.
The teen needed stitches, officials said.
Un-welcome home
A filcher broke into a man’s home on Ocean Parkway while he was away on vacation from April 28 to May 9 and stole a bunch of jewelry, according to authorities.
The 57-year-old victim told police that when he returned to his home near Avenue T, he noticed his kitchen window was shattered, his bedroom and basement were ransacked, and a yellow metal necklace and bracelet were gone, according to a police report.
Swindler shopping spree
A malefactor broke into a guy’s home on Kings Highway while he was at work on May 11 and stole money, a laptop, and bank cards, according to authorities.
The 55-year-old told police that he had left for work at 6 am, and when he returned home near E. 24th Street at 6pm, he noticed his bedroom window was open and three debit cards, $60 in cash, a Hewlett-Packard laptop, and his driver’s license were missing. The guy also received a text messages from his bank saying that the jerk had spent $150 at Walmart and $280 at Bloomingdales, police said.
Tool thief
A crook broke into a guy’s commercial van parked on W. Second Street around midnight on May 10 and stole a bunch of tools, according to police.
The guy told police that when he returned to his van near Avenue X at 12:30 am, he noticed the rear window was broken into and a prowler took a jackhammer, a drill, two angle grinders, and a circular saw, officials said.
Just a kid
Two goons stole a kid’s phone and pushed him to the ground on Avenue W on May 13, police said.
The two cretins approached the 12-year-old near E. 29th Street at 2:40 pm and demanded his cellphone, but when he refused, one of the brigands grabbed the phone from his hand and then the other pushed him to the ground, according to authorities. The two knaves ran off, police said.
Fork it over
Two jerks threatened a teen to hand over his cell phone on May 13 on Gerritsen Avenue, police said.
The 16-year-old was walking home from the train station near Avenue R at 3:30 pm when the two knaves approached him and demanded his iPhone 5S. One of the malefactors shouted, “Give me your phone or I’ll hit you,” so the teen got scared and handed it over, according to authorities.
He wasn’t playing
Two mask-wearing, gun-toting marauders robbed a pair of Knapp Street store clerks on May 9, police said.
A 22-year-old was working behind the counter with a fellow employee in the store near Avenue W when the two looters entered at 9:23 pm and demanded money from the cash register, authorities said. One of the yahoos took out a black firearm and yelled, “Hurry! I’m not playing,” according to police. The workers gave the two goons about $1,500 from the register and then fled, police said.
A stolen Jackson
Police cuffed a 20-year-old and 21-year-old who allegedly stole money from a teen on E. 19th Street on May 10.
The two suspects approached the 15-year-old near Avenue X at 4:20 pm and demanded money from him, police said. The teen gave them $20, according to authorities.
