Cops: Grocery ‘robber’ caught red-handed

62nd Precinct

Bensonhurst—Bath Beach

Red-handed

Cops arrested a man who they say was caught wrapping up a burglary on 18th Avenue on Nov. 9.

Police said they responded to a call about a break-in at a grocery store between 72nd and 73rd streets at 3:30 am — and discovered the suspect outside the shop, carrying a pair of bolt cutters.

Authorities said the business’s security gate was rolled up, and a roll of lottery tickets and an unspecified amount of cigarettes and cash were missing from inside.

Smash-up

A man was arrested for menacing a woman with a glass bottle, tire iron, and a brick on 83rd Street on Oct. 24 — and inadvertently damaging a nearby vehicle in the process.

The woman told cops she was between 18th and 19th avenues at 9:30 pm when the suspect flung a glass bottle at her, then held a tire iron near her head and threatened her.

“I’m going to f—— kill you,” the defendant allegedly said.

The woman said that the suspect then hurled a brick at her — only to miss and dent a parked car.

Bruised apple

Authorities cuffed a suspect who they allege beat up a man on 81st Street on Nov. 2 while an as-of-yet uncaptured accomplice took the victim’s iPhone.

The victim said he was between 17th and 18th avenues at 2:25 am when the defendant punched him in the face. The accused then allegedly held the victim down while his partner in crime took his mobile device.
