Cops: Hungry crook steals delivery food

Hungry scoundrel

Cops arrested a hungry, baseball bat-wielding man who they say threatened and stole bags of grub from a food deliveryman on Lincoln Place on July 13.

The 26-year-old victim told cops that he was making a delivery on the block between Fifth and Sixth avenues, and when he returned to his vehicle at 9:30 pm he saw the crook removing bags of food from it.

The 31-year-old threatened to beat the victim with a baseball bat as he picked up the order of three hamburgers, a Caesar salad, and tater tots, saying he “didn’t give a f—- and was not in the mood,” according to a police report.

An officer, who the victim approached near Sixth Avenue and Sterling Place to report the crime, was able to cuff the alleged criminal.

Cash and booze heist

A masked criminal looted $1,900 and a bottle of Jack Daniels from a Fifth Avenue diner on July 8.

The 50-year-old owner told police the perp got into the eatery near President Street sometime between 2:30 and 8:30 am through the side gate and door, which was not locked.

The crook fled through the side door, cops said.

Please and thank you

A mannerly box-cutter-wielding bandit stole a woman’s purse while she was on Saint Marks Avenue on July 11.

The 31-year-old victim was near Carlton Avenue at midnight when the crook pointed the box-cutter at her and said, “Miss, I need your purse,” according to a police report.

The woman handed over her purse holding her cellphone, wallet, credit and debit cards, driver’s license, and $20 to the criminal, who then fled down Carlton Avenue.

Gotcha!

Police collared a 24-year-old thief who they say stole more than $1,300 worth of merchandise from a Flatbush Avenue department store on July 10.

The alleged criminal entered the store near Atlantic Avenue at 3 pm and picked up a watch, an umbrella, a stroller, condoms, baby supplies, bottles of detergent, clothes, make-up, and a cellphone and walked out of the store 30 minutes later without paying, police said.

Cash for free

A tank top-wearing bandit broke into a Fifth Avenue clothing store and jacked $150 on July 11.

The manager of the trendy shop near Union Street said the thief broke in through the front door of the store at 5 am by damaging the lock and stole the money from cash register.

An anonymous witness on the scene said the perp the fled the shop at 5:10 am.

Attempted car jacking

Police cuffed a 47-year-old who they say tried jacking a 1993 Subaru parked on Fifth Street on July 13.

“I am just trying to help a guy out,” said the alleged crook to the arresting officer at 7:30 am as he was sitting in the driver’s seat of the car parked between Seventh and Eighth avenues.

The suspect was using a screwdriver and pliers to manipulate the ignition in an attempt to start the car, according to a police report.

Stolen goods

A perp burglarized a man’s Fourth Avenue apartment and made off with some pricey electronics on July 8.

The 26-year-old victim told police that he left his abode near 11th Street at 7 am and when he returned at 9 pm he realized that his MacBook Air laptop, iPad, and green backpack were missing.

The victim’s roommate said that the front door to the apartment was unlocked during the day and that he may have heard someone inside the residence sometime between 1 and 3 pm, cops said.

Popped lock

A criminal broke into a Fifth Avenue diner and a swiped $500 sometime between July 8 and July 9.

The owner said that the crook got into the eatery near Degraw Street by popping the front door cylinder lock sometime between 11 pm on July 8 and 7 am the next day.

Unlucky baller

A crook snagged a man’s wallet while he was playing basketball in a Dean Street park on July 11.

The 20-year-old victim told cops that he was shooting hoops with his friends at 4 pm in the greenspace between Vanderbilt and Carlton avenues. He said that he left his change of clothes off to the side with his wallet in the pocket of his shorts.

Shortly after he finished playing ball he noticed that his wallet holding his bank cards and driver’s license was missing.

Motorcycle theft

A thief jacked a man’s Harley Davidson motorcycle that was parked on Third Avenue sometime between July 8 and July 11.

The 32-year-old victim told police that he left his two-wheeler on the street between 11th and 12th streets on July 8 at 7 pm and when he returned three days later at 7:40 am the blue bike was gone.

Someone stole the license plates off the motorcycle two weeks prior, according to a police report.
