60th Precinct

Coney Island—Brighton Beach—Seagate

Cellular swindler

Police arrested a 17-year-old girl and a 24-year-old man who they say stole a woman’s cellphone on W. 15th Street on July 7.

The victim was laying on the Boardwalk at 4:35 pm with her bag five feet away when the robbers sat down next to her before taking her cellphone from the bag and leaving, police said.

The phone was later found in the man’s pants pocket, according to cops.

Stolen jewels

A 45-year-old man was arrested for swiping jewelry from a woman’s home on Brighton 12th Street back on April 25, police said.

The woman was in her home between Corbin Place and Oceanview Avenue at 5 pm when the man allegedly took the jewelry from a jewelry box.

He left with the jewelry even though the woman told him repeatedly not to take it, cops said.

Smartphone swiped

Police arrested a 21-year-old woman for stealing an iPhone 5 and its case from a man on Brighton 11th Street on June 30.

The man was on Oceanview Avenue at 4 pm when the woman took the 16-gigabyte phone, worth $650, and the silicone case, worth $40, from him, police said.

The phone was later recovered at the store where the man had bought it.
