63rd Precinct

Marine Park—Mill Basin—Flatlands—Bergen Beach

What a drag

A 20-year-old man was arrested for beating and robbing a man on Avenue M on Aug. 26, taking the victim’s cellphone.

The victim told police that he was near E. 56th Street at 12:53 pm when the suspect grabbed his arm and attempted to grab his cellphone from his hand. Eventually, the suspect dragged the victim along the pavement, said police, until the victim relented and handed over his phone.

Bike thief bust

Police arrested a 26-year-old man who they say stole tires off of a bicycle left on Avenue N on Aug. 23.

A witness told police that he was near Nostrand Avenue at 12:35 pm when he noticed the suspect taking the tires off of a bicycle and then drive off in his car. When the suspect was arrested, cops said they recovered the stolen tires from his car.

Tool time

Two men, ages 44 and 48, were arrested for pilfering a van parked along E. 73rd Street on Aug. 22 — taking tools.

A witness told police that he was near Ralph Avenue at 7:10 pm when he saw the suspects walking away from the van — which was surrounded by shattered glass — carrying bags of tools. When the suspects were apprehended, police said they recovered a sander and a Craftsman drill kit.
