Cops: Swashbuckler robs tenant at swordpoint

62nd Precinct

Bensonhurst—Bath Beach

En garde

Police netted a man who they say invaded a 73rd Street residence and robbed the tenant at swordpoint on Dec. 1.

The victim said he awoke in his home between 19th and 20th avenues at 4:40 am to find the swashbuckler holding a bag of his tools. The suspect allegedly told the victim he was an “adventurer,” and was attempting to escape the building. The victim said the buccaneer then fled.

On further examination, the victim discovered the storm door to his basement open, black gloves and a flashlight left in the basement, and his power drill, battery charger, and a lighter stolen.

In his defense, the suspect said he had believed the house to be abandoned when he entered, cops said.

Trashed

Authorities arrested two men who they say bludgeoned a bodega owner with a garbage can on 86th Street on Dec. 1.

The victim said the pair of suspects came into his store between 20th Avenue and Bay 23rd Street at 1:45 am and punched him repeatedly in the face. The shopkeeper said he ran outside, where the duo grabbed the waste basket and hit him several times about the head and body with it.

The twosome then alledly stole his shoes, cellphone, and $600 he had on him.

Bad call

Cops picked up a man who they say mugged a woman for her cellphone with a still-at-large accomplice on 83rd Street on Nov. 30.

The victim said she was near 23rd Avenue at 8:40 pm when the suspect came up to her and asked to use her mobile device to make a call. The woman refused, and said that the defendant’s partner in crime emerged from the shadows and drew a knife, while the defendant grabbed her phone. The two then scrammed from the scene.
