Cops have rounded up the grocery goons allegedly responsible for a two−month−long robbery spree where six delis were raided.
Police said that 26−year−old Calvin Bulluck of Eastern Parkway, 17−year−old Freeman of Rockaway Parkway and 18−year−old Dyrell Fields were apprehended on May 15 after being linked to a robbery spree that began in Flatlands and ended up in Windsor Terrace.
Brooklyn Robbery Squad detectives reportedly apprehended one of the suspects earlier in the week after receiving a tip. During questioning, the thief allegedly turned on his two accomplices.
All three have been charged on multiple counts of robbery in the first, second and third degrees, as well as assault, grand larceny and criminal possession of a weapon. Bullock and Fields were connected to five of the robberies while Freeman was arrested for just two, police said.
Cops have been looking for the terrible trio since their first alleged heist on April 22, when they brazenly robbed the Suburbia Grocery, 1266 East 37th Street near Avenue K.
Prosecutors alleged that Bulluck and Fields (Freeman would hang back in the getaway SUV) entered the store just before 11:30 a.m. pulled a gun and pistol−whipped an employee as they forced him to open up the register and fork over a day’s earnings.
Police alleged that the trio tried to rob the Suburbia Grocery earlier that month −− on April 6. One of the thugs managed to jump on the counter and dive for the store receipts, but wasn’t able to get the register opened, officials said.
The thieves resurfaced on April 29, this time in Bay Ridge.
The suspects entered a grocery store on Third Avenue and 61st Street just before 10 p.m. and held up a worker at gunpoint, officials alleged. A 38−year−old employee was shot in the shoulder during the hold−up, officials said.
The three suspects ended its reign of gun−toting terror in Windsor Terrace, where they allegedly hit three stores in close proximity to each other.
Cops alleged that the thieves robbed workers of the Greenwood Mini Mart, 574 Seventh Avenue at 20th Street on the night of May 3, where they took an undetermined amount of cash.
Two days later, they allegedly raided Pierre’s Deli 2 on Tenth Avenue near 16th Street.
Relaying the frightening experience to The Brooklyn Paper, a CNG sister publication, deli manager Jeff Samaha said that one of the thieves pointed a gun at his wife’s head while the other pointed a gun at him, demanding the store receipts.
The thieves ran off with the cash, leaving everyone unharmed.
Still, the shock, as well as the anger, lingers.
“I’m not afraid. I’ll get this son of a b−−−h,” Samaha said, as he dared the suspects to return.
The thieves never did, however, especially after what happened at their last Windsor Terrace stop.
As usual, two of the thieves barged into the store at 6:50 p.m. on May 9. One of them had just pulled a gun and jumped on the counter to reach for the register when both the owner and his uncle went on the offensive, police said.
