A man was seriously injured on Wednesday morning when he tried to hitch a ride on the back of a moving Dunkin’ Donuts delivery truck, police said.

The 22-year-old thrill-seeker jumped on the back of the box truck as the driver was doing his early morning deliveries through Williamsburg and surfed the bumper for a moment, then fell hard as the truck reached Bedford Avenue and N. 11th Street, according to police. The spot is between the Dunkin’ Donuts on Bedford Avenue and N. Seventh Street and the shop on Bedford Avenue at Manhattan Avenue in Greenpoint.

The incident happened just before sunrise at 5:17 am, according to the authorities.

The fellow sustained trauma to his upper body, law enforcement officials said. Emergency personnel took him to Bellvue Hospital, where he is listed in serious but stable condition, cops stated.

No charges have been filed in the incident, police reported.

Police said they are unaware of any other truck-surfing incidents that resulted in injuries or deaths in Brooklyn in recent years.
