Coney Island—Brighton Beach—Seagate
A lowlife stole tools, cash, and a car from a garage on Avenue Y on May 20.
The victim told cops someone broke in to the auto repair company’s garage near Shell Road at 5:15 pm and took a security safe full of cash and tools, then put them into a car that was also stolen from the business, and drove off.
Police arrested a man who they say tried to make off with another man’s iPhone and cash on a train on May 22.
The victim said he was on the train at 3:30 am when the man tried to take his wallet and iPhone X from his pocket. Police said the victim stopped the suspect and held him at Neptune Avenue and W. Sixth Street until police arrived.
Car contents stolen
A jerk stole video games from a car on Brighton 10th Terrace on May 22.
The victim said he parked his vehicle near Coney Island Avenue at 4 pm, but when he got back, realized someone had taken Nintendo video games and his debit and credit cards from the car. The victim said he is unsure whether he locked the car or not, police reported.
Visit from the sandman
A miscreant stole a sleeping drunk man’s debit card on the subway on May 25.
The victim said he was snoozing on a Coney Island-bound D train at 3:30 am when a Metropolitan Transportation Authority worker woke him. Once fully awake at the Surf and Stillwell avenues station, he realized that someone had taken his wallet containing his debit card, cops said. The victim said he was a little drunk and missed his stop while asleep.
