Lying louts
Three frauds made their way into a guy’s E. Third Street home on Aug. 11 by saying they were law enforcement officers, and then robbed him, police said.
The 34-year-old victim told police the criminals entered his house near Avenue U showing forged gold shields. One of the brutes then zip tied and taped his mouth shut and brandished a gun, while another sprayed him with a chemical. The fiends then swiped the guy’s iPhone, identification card, cash, and another iPhone, according to authorities.
The villains fled the house in a dark-colored sports utility vehicle with a spare tire on the back, officials said.
Trio of thieves
Three crooks swiped a bag full of stuff from a Kings Highway store on Aug. 8, police said.
The baddies were in the store near E. 17th Street at about 3:15 pm when they put products from the medicine aisle in their bag and two tried to flee while another one distracted a worker and pushed him out of the way before running out, according to authorities.
Need nicotine
A scalawag stole packs of cigarettes and a television from an Avenue U store on Aug. 9, police said.
The rogue entered the store near Ocean Avenue a little after midnight, laid down behind the counter, and started putting Newport Kings and Marlboro Gold cigarettes — along with a 19-inch television — into a green gift bag and tried to run out the store, police said.
But a worker tried to stop the jerk and got into a brief struggle with the crook before he fled out the store into a red van parked outside, according to authorities.
Scared out
A good-for-nothing tried to steal packs of cigarettes from a store on Nostrand Avenue on Aug. 9, police said.
The lout walked into the store near Avenue Z and went behind the register at about 12:34 am and started putting the cigarettes in his bag. He then attempted to walk out the store with his haul, according to authorities.
But an employee confronted the thief and the two got into a brief struggle, in which the miscreant scratched his arm, and then fled without the bag into a car parked outside, officials said.
Wiped clean
Some malefactors swiped hundreds in cash from a store on Avenue U on Aug. 11, police said.
The knaves broke into the bodega near E. 21st Street at about 12:45 am through the basement and then broke the automated teller machine and removed $1,600 from it, according to authorities.
The malefactors then swiped another $280 from the cash register, and a digital video recorder, police said. The jerks poured bleach over several areas, causing $1,000 in damage, according to authorities.
Cashed out
A trio of nogoodniks broke into a guy’s Avenue Y home and stole thousands in cash, police said.
The three louts broke in through the first-floor window of the home near E. Sixth Street at about 3 pm and ran off with $5,000, according to authorities.
Tool thief
A ne’er-do-well broke into a guy’s Ocean Avenue apartment and stole his tools and electronics on Aug. 7, police said.
The baddie broke the door lock to the apartment near Avenue X at about 1 pm and swiped assorted tools, remote-control cars, a power drill, table saw, and black garbage bags, according to authorities.
Personal belongings
Some cur broke into a woman’s Brown Street home and stole her cash and laptop on Aug. 7, police said.
The woman told police the malefactor broke into her apartment near Avenue Z at about 11 am, causing damage to the door in the process, and swiped her money and her laptop, according to authorities.
The creep also took her photos out of her drawer and a necklace off her table and put them on her bed, officials said.
