Two borough schools have been connected to a burglary crew’s growing list of targets, officials said.
Police said that the same duo responsible for a string of school break-ins in Queens have jumped the border and struck two schools in the Sheepshead Bay area.
One of the schools were hit twice, officials said.
Police said that the thieves — who were snapped up by a video surveillance camera during one of their heists — have been breaking into private schools, mostly Catholic parochial schools, since November of last year.
The suspects usually spent their time in Ozone Park, Cambria Heights and Ridgewood, hitting Our Lady of Grace Parochial School, St. Helen Roman Catholic School and Our Lady of Lourdes Parochial School.
Cops searching for the thieves kept their focus on Queens, until they learned that two similar break-ins took place in Brooklyn.
Officials said that someone broke into the Brooklyn Blue Feather Elementary School at 2335 Gerritsen Avenue on December 27.
Whoever forced their way inside, entered not just once, but twice on the same day, at 3:45 p.m. and then again at 10 p.m. that night.
Police said the thieves used tactics very similar to the Queens thefts — they used bolt cutters to force open a window gate or door before going inside.
The thieves then ran down hallways and rooted through rooms, but only took whatever petty cash they could find in administration offices.
A few weeks later, thieves broke into Our Lady of Grace Parochial School, 385 Avenue W, in Gravesend, where an undisclosed amount of money was removed.
According to published reports, the thieves never removed very much money from their thefts, except their last one.
Police said that the thieves dropped off the radar for about two weeks, but then resurfaced on February 10 where they broke into the Holy Family School in Flushing.
During that heist, the thieves removed a safe containing about $19,000 in cash and checks, officials said.
