Detectives are investigating a shooting that left a man dead in Crown Heights on Tuesday afternoon.
Officers responded to a 911 call regarding an aided man inside his home near the corner of St. Marks Avenue and Nostrand Avenue at 11:07 am on Feb. 2. Upon their arrival, police found 68-year-old Garry Henricksen inside his apartment, unconscious and unresponsive.
Authorities said Henricksen suffered gunshot wounds to his head, abdomen and buttocks prior to cops’ arrival. Emergency Medical Services rushed Henricksen to Interfaith Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
One neighbor said the shooting didn’t come as much of a shock to the area.
“This isn’t shocking for this block. There is a lot of activity on this block,” said resident Roger Sewig. “Just shocking in a blizzard.”
No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
