Doubledays 3
Cyclones 1
Aug. 13, at Auburn
This game was a nail-biter until the seventh, when normally reliable reliever Jeff Kaplan gave up a slew of hits, including a two-out, two-run single to give the pesky Doubledays the margin of victory.
Brooklyn’s lone run came in the second on newcomer Seth Williams’s two-out single.
But the Cyclones only managed two hits after that.
Naturally, the hated Staten Island Yankees won again, dropping the Clones to four games back in the McNamara Division race. The 34–21 Baby Bombers never seem to lose, going 8–2 over their last 10 games, as opposed to the 30–25 Cyclones, who have won seven and dropped three over the same period.
