The Cyclones overcame a three-run deficit and then held off a late Lowell rally in a 7–6 win over the Spinners.

A day after losing 1–0, the Cyclones bats came alive.

Trailing 5–2 in the sixth, Jose Garcia’s two-out single scored Brandon Brosher from second.

In the seventh, run-scoring doubles from Vinny Siena, Michael Bernal, and Jeff Diehl gave Brooklyn the lead. Another run scored when David Thompson was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, giving the Cyclones a vital insurance run.

The Spinners scored a run off Corey Taylor in the eighth to cut the lead to 7–6.

Tom Gamboa called on Alex Palsha to close out Lowell. The closer retired the first two batters before giving up a two-out triple.

With the tying run 90 feet away, Palsha struck out Victor Acosta to end the game.

It wasn’t beautiful but Kevin Canelon picked up his fourth win of the season, giving up five runs on nine hits over six innings.

The Cyclones opened the scoring on Michael Bernal’s sac fly in the third.

Brooklyn scored again in the fourth. Enmanuel Zabala doubled and moved to third on Jose Garcia’s single. Zabala scored on a double play.

The Spinners got to Canelon in the fourth. Lowell loaded the bases on two singles and a walk, with a force out mixed in.

Tate Matheny’s two-run double tied the game and Kyri Washington’s sac fly gave Lowell a 3–2 lead.

In the fifth, Victor Acosta’s run-scoring single made it 4–2.

Andrew Benintendi was on second but an errant pick-off attempt by Canelon moved him to third.

He was able to score on a sacrifice fly from Tucker Tubbs.

With a 5–2 lead, Daniel Zandona was replaced starter Kevin Steen.

Zandona gave up a one -out double to Brosher and a two-out run scoring single to Garcia.

After Canelon pitched a scoreless sixth, Alfredo Reyes led off the seventh with a single and moved to second on a wild pitch.

Tucker Tharp struck out, but Siena came through with a run-scoring double to left, and Taylor Nunez was brought in to relieve Zandona.

Bernal greeted Nunez with a run-scoring double to tie the game and Diehl followed with a run-scoring double to give Brooklyn the lead.

Brosher was hit by a pitch and a wild pitch advanced Diehl and Brosher into scoring position.

Zabala struck out and Garcia walked to load the bases.

David Thompson, pinch-hitting for William Fulmer, was hit by a pitch to make it 7–5.

Alfredo Reyes had a chance to break the game open with his second hit of the inning, but struck out to end the inning.

Nicco Blank pitched a 1-2-3 seventh for the Cyclones.

Corey Taylor came in to pitch the eighth but quickly gave up a double and a single.

After a bunt was popped up and caught, Jose Garcia threw out Chad De La Guerra trying to steal second.

Instead of tying the game, Kyri Washington’s single made it 7–6.

Washington moved to second on an error by Diehl on a pick-off attempt.

Taylor struck out Mitchell Gunsolus to end the inning.

Alex Palsha picked up his 10th save of the year working around a two-out triple to close out the Spinners.
