Cyclones promote “YOUniform” jersey design contest

Students between the ages of five and 16 have the opportunity to submit a baseball-and/or-Brooklyn-themed jersey design for consideration. A Cyclones panel will determine five finalists, whose designs will be posted on the team’s official Web site, brooklyncyclones.com. Fans will then vote online for their favorite jersey, and the winning design will be announced March 17.

The winner will receive a Cyclones prize pack, a framed jersey signed by the 2010 Cyclones, and will throw out a ceremonial first pitch before the game in which their YOUniform will be worn (date TBD).All entries will be showcased in an “art show” at the ballpark’s Brooklyn Baseball Gallery.

Camp Brooklyn was founded by Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz to give children from low-income homes an opportunity to attend a sleepaway camp at no cost to the camper. The Camp Brooklyn Fund gives these children a chance to leave their urban environment and learn about teamwork, loyalty, wholesome health habits, responsibility, personal respect and appreciation for nature.
