Cyclones 7
Spinners 0
Aug. 6 at Lowell
Was it Pedro Martinez or Pedro Martinez on the mound?
Pedro “No Relation” Martinez pitched like his namesake for 6-1/3 innings last night, blanking the Lowell Spinners and limiting them to just three hits in a stellar, six-strikeout performance that set the tone for a runaway win.
Jordan Abruzzo provided some of the fireworks, smacking his third homer of the season in the seventh.
But this game was a blowout almost from the start, with the Cyclones putting up three in the third — all with two outs. John Servidio hit his ninth double and later scored on an error. And J.R. Voyles knocked in two with a single.
The Clones added three in the ninth as Jose Jimenez hit a two-run double and Servidio got an RBI with a bases-loaded walk.
The win improved the Cyclones record to 25-23, but left them three games behind the first-place Yankees.
