No way Jose!

A late-game three-run rally was not enough for the Cyclones to overcome the four runs that pitcher Jose Carlos Medina gave up earlier in the match to hated Staten Island, and the boys once again fell to the evil empire last night.

The Clones showed winning potential in the sixth when, down 4–0, Quinn Brodey plated Franklin Correa on a grounder and Ricardo Cespedes singled in Matt Winaker and Cecilio Aybar, making the score 4–3.

But the boys’ bats were silent for the remainder of the game, allowing the Yankees to clinch a victory.

Staten Island took an early lead when Dom Thompson-Williams doubled to score Wikerman Garcia in the first, and the Yankees moved further ahead in the third after Dalton Blaser plated Cody Brown on a grounder and Leonardo Molina doubled in Thompson-Williams to make it 3–0.

The evil empire picked up another run in the fourth, when Cody Brown’s sacrifice fly scored Kendall Coleman.

Medina, who also allowed six hits, took the loss, making him 0–3 for the season, and Cespedes had one hit and drove two in.

Manager Edgardo “Fonzie” Alfonzo said that the outcome would have been different if the Cyclones started hitting earlier.

‘The guys came out flat today,” he said. “It’s too bad we came back late in the game. Had we attacked earlier, it would have been a different story.”

Brooklyn’s Boys of Summer have now lost 12 of their last 14 games and are at a terrible 4–13, which puts them dead last in their McNamara Division, two games behind Hudson Valley.

The Cyclones hope to crush the evil empire of Staten Island when the teams face-off in a doubleheader tonight in Staten Island that starts at 6 pm.
