Cyclones 8
Jamestown 1
Aug. 2 at Jamestown
The Cyclones scored four runs in the first inning and never looked back, cruising to a romp of Jamestown to once again reach the .500 mark.
Brooklyn carried its hot offensive production from the last two games into the first inning, as Jonathan Clark and Patrick “To Infinity and” Biondi each singled to lead off the inning. Jared King, Alex Sanchez, and Gavin Cecchini each hit an individual RBI and James “Papa” Roche finished the rapid fire of runs on a score off a Jamestown throwing error.
After Jamestown put its only run on the scoreboard, the Cyclones loaded the bases in the fourth with two walks by Clark and L.J. “Mini-Maz” Mazzilli and a Biondi single. King then hit a bases-clearing double to put the game out of reach.
Starting pitcher Miller Diaz kept the Jammers off the bases with eight strikeouts and allowed just two hits through six innings. Kevin McGowan finished the job with two more strikeouts for the save.
The Cyclones have scored 23 runs in just the last three games, compared to 24 in the previous two weeks.
The boys take on Jamestown again tonight at 7:05 pm.
