Renegades 3
Cyclones 8
Wednesday, June 30 at MCU Park
The Cyclones won their fourth game in a row with a 12-hit barrage, decent starting pitching by Angel Cuan and some solid relief.
The Clones fell behind 2-0, but answered back with four runs in the third, thanks to Darrell Ceciliani’s two-run triple — his fourth three-bagger of the young season — and Jeff Flagg’s two-RBI homer.
Flagg added a SAC fly in the fifth and was batting in the seventh when his awesome power spooked Renegade pitcher Hunter Hill into hurling a wild pitch, which scored Cory Vaughn, who had just tripled.
The Clones tacked on two more on Luis Nieves’s first homer of the year in the eighth.
The Cyclones return home on tonight against the Staten Island Yankees. Game time is 7 pm at MCU Park [1904 Surf Ave. at W. 19th Street in Coney Island, (718) 449-8497]. For info, visit www.brooklyncyclones.com.
