Dead body found in water off Transmitter Park

A passerby found the dead body of an elderly man half-submerged along the coast of Greenpoint near Transmitter Park on Thursday morning, police said.

Police responded to a call at the park near Greenpoint Avenue and West Street at 10:40 am, were they found a man between the ages of 65 of 75, “partially on the rocks and partially in the water,” a police spokesman said.

Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene, cops said.

No cause of death has of yet been determined, according to a spokeswoman for the Medical Examiner’s office.
