Second steals
An unlucky driver had his foreign scooter stolen twice in one week on Flushing Avenue.
In the first incident, on May 17, the 33-year-old Italjet Torpedo owner told police he parked his moto at 4 pm between Carlton Avenue and Cumberland Street. When he came back at 10 pm, the scooter was gone.
It was soon recovered, only to be stolen again on the night of May 19.
The victim said he parked his motorbike at 6 pm on the same block as the first crime and it was gone by 10:30 am the following morning.
Take a bath-room
A man returned to his Carlton Avenue bathroom — or at least the makings of one — on May 24 to find that it was gone.
The victim, 50, said he was not in the building between Myrtle and Willoughby avenues from May 20–24. When he returned, he discovered damage to his basement door and learned that his Jacuzzi hot tub, toilet, sink and vanity were taken.
Stealth care
A 96-year-old woman on Ashland Place believes her home care attendant stole assorted clothing and furnishings from her between April 20 and 24.
Her suspicions are bolstered by claims by victim’s niece, another caregiver and a security guard in the building between Myrtle Avenue and Willoughby Street, who said they saw the rogue carrying a big, black suitcase several times during the four days that she worked the elderly woman.
The victim told police the alleged thief stole four pairs of pants, two sets of sneakers, a blouse, a raincoat, three boxes, pieces of sliver ware, towels, folding chairs and her bank and credit cards.
In-hospital-ble
A plunderer stole a computer from an unlocked office in Brooklyn Hospital on Willoughby Street over the weekend of May 15–18.
The resourceful thief struck the office between Ashland Place and St. Edwards Street after 6 pm on May 15 and before 8:30 am Monday morning, according to an employee.
Out of the closet
A teacher told police that a menace stole her laptop and LCD projector from a closet in her Park Avenue classroom overnight on May 18.
The teacher, 32, said she left her classroom in the McKinney Secondary School between North Portland Avenue and North Oxford Street at 2:30 pm and came back at 8 am on May 19 to find the gizmos taken from an unlocked closet.
