Driver critically injures woman crossing street in Bath Beach

A woman is in died after a motorist struck her with a car in Bath Beach on Oct. 29, according to police.

The 49-year-old woman was crossing Bay Parkway at 6:25 pm when the driver made a left turn from Benson Avenue onto Bay Parkway and hit the pedestrian victim, cops said.

Users on the crime-alerting app Citizen say that the victim’s young son was walking with her when the vehicle hit her — but that the child was unharmed, according to authorities.

“Son roughly 10 years old by side. She stopped breathing, stranger gave CPR until EMS arrived,” wrote one user.

A video uploaded by the crime website Loudlabs shows an older man embracing a boy at the scene.

Emergency responders transported the victim to Lutheran Hospital in critical condition with severe head trauma — and she later died on Oct. 31, according to authorities.

Cops cuffed the 74-year-old driver on Nov. 3 and charged him failure to yield, and failure to exercise due care, according to authorities.
