Foot in mouth — or car
A man used his car to run over the foot of a traffic agent who was writing him a summons on 63rd Street on April 4.
The agent was trying to write the man a summons for an alternate side parking violation just before noon at 16th Avenue when he started moving the car — even after the agent warned him he would run over his foot, according to police.
The agent sustained pain and bruising and went to Maimonides Hospital for treatment, cops said.
Clothes snatcher
Police arrested a man who they say stole more than $1,000 worth of clothes from a Bay Parkway store on April 6.
The man stole the clothes from the store at Shore Parkway around 5 pm, but they were recovered by an employee, police reported.
Hacked her at home
A phony scammed an 83rd Street woman out of more than $2,000 via iTunes gift cards and a digital currency website, Coinbase, on April 7, when he told her he needed the funds to remove a virus from her computer.
The con called the woman, who lives between 20th and 21st avenues, around 6 pm, and told her he was from Apple Care, and that she should send the money online, police reported. He also hacked into her computer, according to the report.
Nothing but a fraud
A scammer stole more than $2,000 from an 83rd Street woman on April 7 after telling her he was an immigration agent who could bring her father over from Guatemala.
The liar told the woman — who lives between 16th and 17th avenues — just before 5 pm that the move would cost $2,200, according to authorities. She then sent two transactions: the first for $1,000, and the second for $1,200 nearly two hours later, cops said.
