The driver of a van struck a cyclist — causing a fractured leg and head trauma — on 65th Street in Bensonhurst on July 21, police said.

The collision occurred between 19th and 20th avenues just after 5 pm, when the man driving the 2007 van tried to drive around the cyclist — who police said was “swerving in and out of lanes and acting erratically” before swerving in front of the driver who hit him, according to police.

Emergency medical personnel transported the cyclist to Maimonides Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries, police said, adding that the cyclist told officers he was homeless and refused to provide any information about himself besides his first name.

An eyewitness said that the cyclist was a delivery man at a nearby bagel shop on the corner of 65th Street and 20th Avenue and that he was riding his bike while under the influence of alcohol, but police did not confirm these details by press time.

Police said there were no arrests.
