A robber threatened an elderly man sleeping on a Union Avenue bench, then stole his cash on Aug. 6, according to a report.
The 65-year old victim told police he was sleeping on the bench at the corner of Metropolitan Avenue at 4 am when the bandit rousted him and said he’d beat him up.
The victim forked over $328 in cash, as well as his phone charger and eyeglasses, officers said.
Scare tactic
Two fiends followed a woman into her Morgan Avenue apartment building and attacked her in the early morning of Aug. 8, but didn’t rob her, law enforcement officials said.
The victim said the two miscreants followed her into her complex between Nassau and Driggs avenues at 1:24 am.
One of them and grabbed her waist, covered her mouth, and told her not to scream, a report states. The other lowlife did not touch her and the two eventually ran off without taking anything, police said.
Urban brawl
Cops cuffed a man who they say attacked a 21-year-old man on Wythe Avenue on Aug. 8.
The victim said he was between N. Fifth and N. Sixth streets at 2:50 am when the suspects approached and started punching him. One of the fellows whacked him in the head and the face, cutting his lip, according to police.
The accused then fished his wallet and iPhone out of his pocket, cops reported. Police arrested a 24-year-old man and charged him with robbery. The law is still after his accomplice.
