Police seek public’s help identifying suspect sought for East New York robbery

The New York Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating and identifying the individual wanted in connection with an East New York robbery that took place earlier this year.

At approximately 10:40 a.m. on Feb. 22, police say an unidentified man entered a commercial storefront at 11112 Flatlands Ave., within the confines of the 75th Precinct. The individual then brandished a firearm at a 51-year-old male employee of the store before requesting he hand over iPhones. 

After being given the goods, the unidentified man allegedly restrained the victim before removing additional items and fleeing the store on foot, heading southbound on Flatlands Avenue towards Williams Avenue. No injuries were reported as a result of the crime.

Authorities released security camera footage of the suspect, pictured in all black clothing, on Friday.

According to police data, the 75th Precinct has reported 121 robberies in the area in a year-long period leading up to March 10, 2024. This is a 6.1% increase in comparison to the same time period leading up to March 10, 2023, which saw a reported 114 robberies.
